Borthwick Memorial Golf Tournament

The 44th annual Dick Borthwick Memorial Golf Tournament was held Monday at the Hamilton Golf & Country Club. The fundraising event, named after the former head pro who served the club for almost three decades and claimed the 1949 Canadian PGA Championship, began in 1971 to support Branchton Camp, a camp near Cambridge for persons with developmental challenges. Since the late 1990s various Hamilton charities have benefited from the tournament. This year’s proceeds, which are expected to be more than $160,000, will support Ancaster Community Services, Hamilton Food Share, Out of the Cold, Wellwood and Wesley Urban Ministries.
