On May 15th, 29 schools across the city participated in Cram-A-Cruiser, Hamilton’s largest one day school food drive in support of Hamilton Food Share. Students, teachers, and parents joined together to raise enough food to ‘cram’ a police cruiser full of donations destined for food banks across the city.
This year, participating schools set a new record, with donations totaling over 15,235 lbs of food!
Hamilton Food Share would like to extend our sincerest thanks to members of the Hamilton Police Service for the role they played in championing this initiative and visiting each one of the schools. It was an incredibly close race this year with two schools doing extremely well with their collections of food and funds. Students from the top schools, A.M. Cunningham and Queen Mary, will be attending Ticats and Forge FC games with tickets generously donated by the teams.
