A Message From Our Executive Director – Joanne Santucci
Although the Easter holiday might look very different for many of us this year, we wanted to extend our warmest wishes for a Happy Easter to every food bank client and all our friends and supporters in the the community.
We are blown away by the groundswell of kindness we have received from Hamiltonians who just want to help in anyway that is needed. Thank you so very much to all of you that have made a financial contribution and sent us your words of encouragement. We have a hard-working team of 13 staff members who are still accepting donations, ordering food, driving trucks, and doing office work. I like to share some of your words with the staff such as these which were sent in to us:
“We are seniors who must stay at home – we want to help and this is the only way right now – God bless you for the work you are doing.” – Don in Dundas.
“I hope I can help people with greater needs than our family.” – Bruno in Hamilton who gave in memory of Jack Layton.
“I want to donate at this time to help those who through this time will have difficulty paying rent and getting food. Stay strong, be kind. We support you” – An anonymous donor.
Thank you Don, Bruno and everyone who has taken the time to donate and be in touch. Please know that your contribution will ensure that we are continuing to provide much-needed food to food banks and meal programs over Easter and beyond.
If you would like to make a donation in honour or in memory of someone this Easter or in lieu of birthday, anniversary or holiday gifts, our online giving platform makes it easy to do so and you can instantly send an e-card to the recipient. Learn more by visiting our website.
Please stay safe and take care of each other.
