The 2018 Ontario Association of Food Banks (OAFB) 2018 Hunger Report discusses the growing problem of seniors’ poverty in Ontario.
Every March, the OAFB network of members and agencies (which includes Hamilton Food Share and our local member agency food banks) participate in gathering statistics for both planning and policy use in Hamilton and province-wide.
The Ontario Association of Food Banks uses this data, which is provided by the food bank network, to analyze yearly trends related to food insecurity and the food bank use. The annual Hunger Report is released each December, and provides an in-depth analysis of food bank use statistics, client demographics, and the interconnected challenges of poverty and hunger within the province.
Hamilton Food Share also produced a 2018 Hunger Count report for Hamilton.
