We are happy to pass along this opportunity through our friends at the Rotary Club of Burlington.

They are recruiting volunteers to help at Canada’s Largest Ribfest over the Labour Day Weekend (August 30th to September 2nd 2019) at Spencer Smith Park in Burlington.

Because the event requires a large number of volunteers, they have asked for other charitable organizations like ours to essentially refer our volunteers in exchange for a donation to our charity.

The donation usually works out to at least $5.50 per volunteer hour. (e.g. If Hamilton Food Share volunteers work a total of 100 hours at Ribfest, Rotary would send Hamilton Food Share a cheque for $550).

*****Very Important: When signing up for a shift, please be sure to indicate “Hamilton Food Share” in the Other Charity section so that we may be credited for your hours worked.*****

We see this as a win-win! A great way to get involved in a very well organized local Rotary Club fundraising initiative while also giving back to Hamilton Food Share.

Please review the volunteer job descriptions below and follow the links to register yourself as a volunteer today. There are eight different volunteer jobs available and spots are filling up quickly.

You can use the links above to get to the volunteer job descriptions and shift sign-up forms, or you can get to them via their website at www.canadaslargestribfest.com/volunteers.

Please contact Rib Fest directly at volunteers@rcbl.org if you have any questions about volunteering at Ribfest 2019. If you have questions about becoming a Public Safety volunteer, please direct your questions to security@canadaslargestribfest.com.

If you do sign up, please send me a quick email (leah@hamiltonfoodshare.org) to alert us that you are volunteering on behalf of Hamilton Food Share so we can send you a thank you!
